AC Milan Legend Andrea Pirlo to be at the GBA 2025 Ceremony


AC Milan Legend and world football icon Andrea Pirlo officially addressed the second annual Golden Boomerang Awards 2025 tournament participants. The organizer, Boomerang Partners, posted a video message on social media.

Pirlo was excited about the event: “The Golden Boomerang Awards 2025 is where legends and winners come together. And this year, I’ll be there, waiting to meet the top 30 at San Siro on May 20th. It’s going to be a special night. Full of energy, football, and style — in the heart of Milan.”

Andrea Pirlo is the 2006 World Champion with the Italian national team. He has twice won the Champions League with AC Milan and is a multiple winner of Serie A, the Italian Cup, the Italian Super Cup, and other notable tournaments. He is also inducted into the AC Milan Hall of Fame and the Italian Football Hall of Fame. After finishing his career as a footballer, Andrea started his coaching journey. Pirlo’s presence at the Golden Boomerang Awards ceremony links football’s legacy with the future of digital entertainment.

BlueBet completes acquisition of TopSport


BlueBet Holdings Limited (trading as betr) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of certain assets of Merlehan Bookmaking Pty Ltd (trading as TopSport) following the highly successful migration of TopSport customers to the betr platform overnight.

In consideration for acquiring certain assets of TopSport:

- the Company has made a cash payment of $1,520,428.47 to TopSport (representing the Completion Payment less TopSport customer account balances, pending bets, and employee entitlements). This has been funded using the proceeds of the Company’s capital raising which completed on 13 February 2025);
- the Company has issued 8,823,529 fully paid ordinary shares (the Completion Shares) to TopSport’s nominee entity, Merlehan Family Investments Pty Ltd; and
- contingent on the satisfaction of certain milestones, the Company may be required to issue up to 23,000,000 performance options and make future cash payments to TopSport in accordance with the terms of the asset sale agreement (as summarized in the Company’s ASX announcement dated 5 February 2025).

The issuance of the Completion Shares was ratified by shareholders at the Company’s general meeting held on 31 March 2025. The Completion Shares will be subject to voluntary escrow for a period of 6 months (in respect of 50% of the Completion Shares) and 12 months (in respect of the remaining 50% of the Completion Shares).

More than 63 million rows of TopSport customer data were securely migrated overnight, including transactional data, pending bets and account balances. This delivered a frictionless experience for TopSport customers who can now expect a materially uplifted wagering experience on the betr platform, with TopSport Chief Executive Officer, Tristan Merlehan, to add to the Company’s best-in class Management Team joining in the role of Chief Trading Officer.

BetMGM confirms first £250,000 Cheltenham drop winner


Following the conclusion of the 2025 Cheltenham Festival, BetMGM can confirm the first of two lucky £250,000 winners.

Steve from County Durham became the first winner of two BetMGM £250,000 giveaways during this year’s Cheltenham Festival, having placed a £2 qualifying bet with the online bookmaker.

PGA of America and PENN Entertainment announce sports betting partnership

The PGA of America and PENN Entertainment, announced today a multiyear sports betting partnership. Under the agreement, ESPN BET becomes the “Official Sports Betting Sponsor” of the PGA Championship through 2026. The 2024 PGA Championship will take place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from 16-19 May.

This agreement marks a milestone for the PGA Championship as it becomes the first men’s golf major to establish an official sports betting sponsor. ESPN BET is a best-in-class online sportsbook that combines PENN’s proprietary in-house technology and deep sportsbook operational expertise with ESPN’s industry-leading brand and multiplatform reach.

Playtech extends partnership with BoyleSports until 2028
