WPT Global teams up with JP Poker Card Club & Casino in Ireland


WPT Global, a premier name in the online poker space, is pleased to announce its new partnership with JP Poker Card Club & Casino, one of Ireland’s flourishing live poker destinations. This partnership introduces a monthly flagship €200 buy-in tournament with a €50,000 guaranteed prize pool, multiple pathways to the World Poker Tour as well as various promotions for WPT Global players.

Irish Poker Open 2019 announced

Paul O’Reilly and JP McCann are happy to announce details of the Irish Poker Open 2019, which will take place from 15–22 April 2019 in the prestigious Citywest Hotel, Dublin. The buy-in for this event will remain at €1,025 plus €125, and the festival will once again feature a full schedule of events to capture the imagination of poker players at an affordable buy-in level.

This year sees the return of the event to the Easter weekend in Ireland. There are also four starting days for the event with the introduction of a Day 1A on Wednesday, 17 April and a Day 1D Turbo on Friday, 19 April.

Online satellites will take place on Paddy Power Betfair and a great series of packages will be available on the IPoker Network, each package worth €2,500 from January 2019. Players can now can also use My PP LIVE $$$ via partypoker. Online registration is available online.

Sports stars prepare for PokerStars Festival Dublin

Sports stars Wayne Bridge, Michael Duberry and Stephen Hendry are putting their poker skills to the test next week at PokerStars Festival Dublin. The PokerStars Festival tour delivers top quality poker action to poker players across a range of buy in levels starting from €100.

The stars will compete in the PokerStars Festival Dublin Main Event, which promises to be one of the biggest Irish poker tournaments of the year with its €700,000 prize pool guarantee and €1,100 buy-in.

Seven-time world snooker champion Stephen Hendry said, "I'm excited to play at PokerStars Festival Dublin. Ireland: Lottery now in private ownership

DUBLIN - For the first time in 27 years the National Lottery in Ireland is privately owned, the Irish Times reported.

The new owner is Premier Lotteries Ireland, the report said.

The company is a partnership between An Post, the Irish post office and the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan who paid $405 million for the National Lottery, according to the Irish Times report.
