Art Peacock Wins Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $3.5K WPT Main Event


In Hollywood, Florida, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown wrapped up with Art Peacock claiming the title in the $3,500 WPT Main Event. The tournament, held April 4–8, drew 1,755 entries, generating a massive $5,616,000 prize pool.

Peacock outlasted a star-studded final table and secured the win over runner-up Daniel Marcus. In total, 221 players cashed in the event, underlining the growing popularity and prestige of the WPT events at Seminole Hard Rock.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown to return to Hollywood


Poker tournament action returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida with Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown kicking off on Wednesday, 19 March with the $400 Deep Stack series opener featuring a $1 Million Guaranteed prize pool. As a main stop for the World Poker Tour, the tournament will culminate with the $3,500 WPT Poker Showdown Championship starting on Friday, 4 April. The championship event boasts a $3 Million Guarantee. The final six players of the championship will reconvene in May in Las Vegas for a televised final table.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open a month away

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will celebrate its eighth season of highly anticipated, top tournament play at South Florida’s iconic entertainment destination Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Fla. SHRPO will kick off Thursday, 22 July with the $400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em series opener highlighting a $500,000 guarantee.

Unique to South Florida, SHRPO is known for its one-of-a-kind finisher – The Big 4. The Big 4 is a collection of four-tournament finales that feature staggered structures, timed so the events play down simultaneously in front of a live audience. The Big 4 will be played on Tuesday, 10 August.

Carrying combined prize pools of $6.5 million, The Big 4 premium events include:

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown begins next month

Poker action returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida with the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown kicking off on Thursday, 16 April. The tournament celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood and World Poker Tour’s partnership.

Primary events open with a $400 buy-in Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em featuring a $500,000 Guaranteed prize pool. A main stop for the World Poker Tour, the series will conclude with the $3,500 WPT Showdown Championship boasting a $3 Million Guarantee.

As part of the 10-year partnership celebration, Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood and WPT will be giving players an opportunity to win a seat into the $3,500 WPT Showdown Championship by winning one of 10 select tournaments. The tournaments will be played over the course of 10 weeks, with the first-place finishers of each winning an entry into the WPT Showdown Championship. The 10 select tournaments are:

Seminole Hard Rock announces winner of 2020 Lucky Hearts Poker Open

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. concluded its 2020 Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO) Wednesday. Besting 843 entries in the WPT NLH Championship, Brian Altman, of Boston, Mass. made history by winning his second career WPT LHPO title for $482,636 plus a $15,000 entry into the season-ending Baccarat Crystal WPT Tournament of Champions.


“This is incredibly special. It’s amazing to be the first person to win the same WPT event twice, and kind of cement myself in history with this event,” Altman said. “Obviously it’s fantastic to get big wins, and when playing these events, I’m happy to put myself in a position to go deep, be chip leader and make final tables.”

The $3,500 finale boasted a final prize pool of nearly $2.7 million, easily exceeding the $2 million guarantee. The last 106 spots and the field made the money late on Day 2.

Florida resident William Muniz won the opener turning his $1,100 entry into $225,717.

Jason Young wins Lucky Hearts Poker Open

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida concluded its 2019 Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO) Tuesday evening. Besting 1,634 entries in the WPTDeepStacks Main Event, Jason Young, 37, of Delray Beach, Florida, took home the top prize of $260,205 plus a $3,000 WPTDeepStacks Championship Package. The $1,100 finale boasted a final prize pool of more than $1.5 million, easily exceeding the $1 million guarantee.

“It’s been a long journey to get back here,” said Young. “There’s been a lot of stuff that’s gone on in my life over the last five to six years, and I didn’t think I’d ever be back in a position like this.”

Young has career earnings exceeding $1 million, the majority of which came via his four tournament wins. In addition to Tuesday’s WPTDeepStacks LHPO Main Event win, Young’s poker resume is highlighted by a World Series of Poker gold bracelet victory in Las Vegas in 2008. That event was a $1,500 buy-in shootout and earned Young $335,565.

“This was fun. It was like a picnic,” said Young of his play Tuesday. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a spot like this, and I wasn’t going to get rattled by anything – not today.”

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood announces Poker Open winner

At the conclusion of the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO), it’s Pavel Plesuv of Prague, Czech Republic who walks away with $504,820 after winning first place in the $3,500 World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship. Plesuv bested 898 total entries in the series finale, taking home the trophy and a $15,000 WPT Tournament of Champions entry in what marked the largest Championship tournament in RRPO history.

“The tournament was great,” Plesuv said. “I really liked the structure. The field was big and it had great organization. The property is great, too.”

Plesuv hails from Maldova but now resides in Prague. He has been a professional poker player for 10 years and this score marks his third-largest career cash. Previously, he claimed three other tournament titles and finished runner-up at WPT Prague in 2015.

“I was heads-up in WPT Prague three years ago with a big chip lead,” Plesuv said. “I lost. So I’m really excited to come back and win.”

PokerStars and Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood team up

PokerStars and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood have teamed up to bring Florida players an action-packed live poker schedule throughout November, when PokerStars will award three Platinum Passes to the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), which will take place in the Bahamas in January 2019.

Each Platinum Pass is worth approximately $30,000 and includes a $25,000 PSPC buy-in, accommodation at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and approximately $2,000 for travel and expenses.

The month-long program consists of the Moneymaker PSPC Tour, the Feeding South Florida Charity Poker Tournament and the Seminole Hard Rock’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open series.

WSOP at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will soon be hosting the first of two tournaments on the 2018-2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) U.S. Circuit.

The initial WSOP tournament at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, which will span 12 days beginning on Thursday, 13 September, will feature a plethora of recreational and amateur players who will ultimately compete in a $1 million guaranteed Main Event, scheduled for 21-24 September.

Leading up to the Main Event, a number of other events are scheduled including a $300,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em competition and a $100,000 guaranteed Monster Stack event.

Until Friday, 14 September, at 11:59 p.m., players will have the opportunity to win a seat into the main event via an online contest as well as secure special hotel rates.

Following the September tournament, the WSOP will return to Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, 7-18 February 2019. The WSOP U.S. Circuit’s 15th season, which got underway 2 August, offers a record 28 stops, all linked by a points system tied to the WSOP gold-bracelet awarding, $1 million-plus prize pool and season-culminating Global Casino Championship.

The 2018-19 WSOP season features more benefits for players, including more starting chips and new price points.

Scott Margereson takes down WPT Poker Showdown Championship at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood concluded its 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown series in the early morning hours of Thursday. The series marked the second time pairing WPTDeepStacks and WPT brands in the same festival, the first being January’s Lucky Hearts Poker Open.

With 1,309 total entries, the $3,500 WPT Poker Showdown Championship featured a final prize pool of $4,188,800, easily exceeding the $3 million guarantee. It was Scott Margereson of the United Kingdom who emerged victorious, taking home the top prize of $696,740 inclusive of a seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas, valued at $15,000. Margereson, 25, is an accomplished online pro currently residing in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The 2018 WPT Poker Showdown, which ran as part of the tour’s Season XVI, marked the fifth-largest Championship in WPT history. That puts the Seminole Hard Rock first (1,795 entries in 2014), second (1,476 entries in 2015) and fifth on the WPT’s all-time attendance list.

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood confirms Rock 'n' Roll Poker Open dates

Tournament poker returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida from 15–29 November 2017 with the Seminole Hard Rock Poker (SHRP) Rock 'n' Roll Poker Open (RRPO). This year's RRPO features 17 tournaments spanning 15 days of action, highlighted by a $3,500 buy-in, $2 million guaranteed championship.

Kicking off the series is the $360 buy-in Ultimate Re-Entry with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Ultimate Re-Entry is a one-of-a-kind event that will offer eight starting flights beginning 15 November. Players will earn $2,500 Multi-Stack Payouts for each day they bag after their first. Those who advance will carry their largest chip stack forward and all Day 2 players are guaranteed a payout. Last year's RRPO opener drew more than 5,000 entries, going down as the largest poker tournament in Florida state history.

Seminole Hard Rock Casino hosts charity poker tournament

On Tuesday, 3 October 2017, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will host a Charity Poker Tournament benefiting Feeding South Florida and its hurricane relief efforts. In partnership with PokerStars, the tournament will raise much needed funds following the recent devastation, and help those affected by Hurricane Irma and other recent storms.

Seminole Hard Rock announces two World Poker Tour Season XV winners

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood announced winners of two World Poker Tour Season XV events, part of the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Tony Sinishtaj from the Bronx Borough of New York walked away with $661,283 after winning first place in the $3,500 buy-in, $2 million guaranteed Championship held 31 March through 5 April. Ryan Riess from East Lansing, Michigan won first place in the $10,000 buy-in, $2 million guaranteed WPT Finale held 2-6 April, taking home the top payout of $716,088. Included in the payout, both Sinishtaj and Riess earned a seat into the $15,000 buy-in, WPT Tournament of Champions held 7-9 April, a televised event reserved for Season XV Champions and WPT Champions Club members only.

The $3,500 buy-in Championship drew a total of 1,207 entries that easily surpassed the $2,000,000 guarantee, for a total prize pool of $3,862,400.

Sinishtaj outlasted a tough final table that included Daniel Colman, champion of the 2014 World Series of Poker $1 million Big One for One Drop, as well as South Florida professional poker player Robert Mizrachi and Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Darryll Fish. In all, the six finalists combined to boast over $40 million in career earnings. While Colman, Mizrachi and Fish bowed out in fourth, third and second respectively, Sinishtaj hung on to claim the top spot and his first major victory.

"It feels amazing," Sinishtaj said. "I can't wait, I just want to keep playing. It's awesome."

Minnesota player wins Seminole hard Rock Poker Open

Patrick Mahoney from Winona, Minnesota walked away with $564,227 after winning first place in the $3,500 buy-in Seminole Hard Rock Rock 'n' Roll Poker Open (RRPO) $2 million guaranteed Championship held 25-30 November 2016 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. In addition to his cash prize, Mahoney earned a $5,250 seat in the August 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship. Offering two starting flights, the Championship produced a total of 760 entries, with a total prize pool of $2,432,000.

The 14-tournament series, held in the resort ballrooms, surpassed every major guarantee. Opening day kicked off Wednesday, 16 November with a $360 buy-in Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em $1 million guaranteed, the first event in Florida poker history to offer a seven-figure guarantee at this price point. The event drew 5,018 entries, resulting in a prize pool of $1,505,400 and a new record for the largest playing field in Florida's history.

The series also featured a $50,000 buy-in High Roller structured as a one-day Turbo. The high-stakes tournament drew 21 entries and a prize pool of $1,043,700.

Another first for Seminole Hard Rock Poker was a series of tournaments live streamed by Poker Night in America. Complete with commentary and hole cards, the live streaming comprised of featured tables during the early stages of play and final table coverage during the late stages of play.
