Pala completes casino expansion

With the completion on Friday, 26 October of the interior décor of its casino, officials of Pala Casino Spa and Resort today announced the expansion and renovation of its gaming, entertainment and dining facilities are complete.

Painters and plasterers put the finishing touches on wall coverings and the building columns, placed new furniture in the slot floor and table games area and installed the final complement of new chandeliers throughout the casino.

“With the completion of this work, all of the planned interior expansion and renovation of our gaming, dining, spa, pool and entertainment facilities, which began in October 2017, is finished,” said Pala Chief Executive Officer Bill Bembenek. “Next will be the renovation of our hotel rooms.”

The overall interior project includes the addition of a new 10,000-square-foot casino area that offers over 300 slot and video games; the new Marquise Bar and Lounge; the new 15,000-square-foot smoke-free casino area, which also includes over 300 slot and video poker machines, live poker, casino cashier services and several restaurants and bars; the expanded Noodles Asian Restaurant and the expanded Luis Rey’s restaurant, bar and lounge.

The Marquise Bar offers plush lounge space and ample seating right in the middle of the casino action. The bar is adorned with hundreds of strands of crystals and is the centerpiece of a new 10,000 square-foot gaming area, which offers over 300 new slot and video poker machines along with new blackjack and roulette tables.

The 15,000-square-foot, smoke-free casino area is enclosed with glass from floor-to-ceiling. Pala’s HVAC system has been augmented to ensure that positive air flows out from the smoke-free space into the casino area where smoking is allowed. It offers over 300 slot and video poker machines, live poker, cashier services and several restaurants and bars. Guests are able to enter the smoke-free casino directly through the smoke-free hotel entrance using Pala’s complimentary valet service.

Three-way chop decides Pala poker tournament winner

Richard King of Valley Center, California; James Ladere of Riverside, California; and Geoffrey Greene of Temecula, California, each won $3,650 on Sunday, 25 March, when they agreed to a three-way chop in the Vegas Seat poker tournament at Pala Casino Spa and Resort.

Sixty-six players vied for the $12,950 total prize pool and 10 qualified for Day 2. The 10 finalists in the five-day event each won $200 on the day they qualified.

Pala Casino releases April poker schedule

Southern California poker players will have more opportunities to win extra cash at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in April, when the Poker Room will host two $10,000 Guaranteed Vegas Seat tournaments from Wednesday to Sunday, 11-15 April and 25-29 April; a 2018 Vegas Omaha Seat tournament, Saturday, 7 April; the Pala Super Deepstack every Saturday; and the Sunday Super Deepstack and Friday Night 2K tournaments.

Southern California poker players will have more opportunities to win extra cash at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in March when the Poker Room hosts four Vegas Seat tournaments and its Pala Super Deep Stack and Friday Night 2K events. Pala Poker also will continue its popular High Hand of the Hour, Sunday High Hand Frenzy, Rolling High Hands and Chase for the Dough promotions. Pala Poker will continue to stream LIVE 2-3-5 No-Limit Hold'em action from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday and Saturday on Facebook.

The four Vegas Seat tournaments will be the Seniors Seat at 10 a.m., Saturday, 3 March; the Omaha Seat at 6 p.m., Thursday, 8 March; the Casino Employees Seat at 6 p.m., Thursday, 15 March, and the $10,000 Seat Guarantee from 21-25 March.

The Pala Super Deep Stack will be played at 3 p.m. each Saturday, except 24 March. The buy-in will be $125 and chips will be $30,000/$10,000 with an optional $15 staff bonus buy. Re-entries will be for three levels, and blinds will be 30 minutes.

The Friday Night 2K will start at its regular 7:15 p.m. time. The buy-in will be $40+$10 with a $2,000 guarantee. Chips will be $4,000/$2,000 with a $5 optional staff buy and a $20 add-on for $10,000 chips. Late and re-entries will be allowed to four levels with a full stack.

The 2018 Seniors Vegas Seat tournament will start at 10 a.m., Saturday, 3 March. The buy-in will be $125 and there will be one $1,000 guaranteed seat. Chips will be $7,000/$3,000 with a $5 optional staff bonus buy. Re-entries will be for four levels and blinds will be 20 minutes. Every $1,000 accumulated in the prize pool will be awarded one seat. Any remaining amount less than $1,000 will be awarded to the next qualifying position. A minimum of 10 players will be required to honor the guarantee.

The 2018 Omaha Vegas Seat tournament will start at 6 p.m., Thursday, 8 March. The buy-in will be $100 with one $1,500 guaranteed seat. Chips will be $7,000/$2,000 with a $5 optional staff bonus buy. Re-entries will be for four levels and blinds will be 30 minutes. Every $1,500 accumulated in the prize pool will be awarded one seat. Any remaining amount less than $1,500 will be awarded to the next qualifying position. A minimum of 10 players will be required to honor the guarantee.

Southern California poker players will have more opportunities to win extra cash at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in October when the Poker Room will host the $20,000 Estimated Quantum Reload tournament starting Wednesday, 4 October until Sunday, 8 October, and the River Card Championship tournament starting Thursday, 26 October until Sunday, 29 October. Pala Poker also will host its Super Deep Stack game at 3 p.m. each Saturday, except on 7 and 28 October, when the other two tournaments are being played.

Pala presents Ghostly Gallery giveaway

Every player at Pala Casino Spa and Resort can win a share of $134,900 starting Monday, October 24, until Sunday, 27 November, in the casino's $134,900 Ghostly Gallery Giveaway promotion. It is free to play, but players must be enrolled in the Pala Privileges Club to enter. Privileges cards are free in the casino at the Privileges Center.

Thirty winners will share $101,000 starting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, 30 November, in the Grand Prize drawing. And, four players will win cash prizes starting at 10 a.m., Monday, 28 November, in the $1,300 Bonus Giveaway.

Participants can play Ghostly Gallery video machines free in the casino once every 24 hours, with no casino play required. But, if a player earns 25 or more points while playing their favorite game in a 24-hour period, they can play an additional Ghostly Gallery game.

For every Portrait on the Wall selected, a player will receive between 1-35 entries into the grand prize drawing. For every Ghost With Cash or the Golden Ghost, they will receive between 40-60 additional entries. If they find all four Ghosts with Cash, they will win one entry into the $1,300 Bonus Giveaway on Monday, 28 November, and if they get all four Ghosts With Cash and the Golden Ghost, they will win two entries into the $1,300 Bonus Giveaway.

Block Party 2016 heading to Pala Casino Spa & Resort

Block Party 2016 will feature the return of 90’s R&B legends TLC, Jordan, Soul For Real and DJ Wiz to the Starlight Theater stage at 8 p.m., Friday, September 9, at Pala Casino Spa and Resort.

The vibes will be soulful and funky and the party will feature all things great from the 90’s – artists, music, fashion, beer, wine, cocktails and pure party fun.

TLC, formed in Atlanta, GA, in 1990, scored nine top-ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including number one singles, “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty.” They also recorded four multi-platinum albums including CrazySexyCool (’94) which still remains the only album by a female singing group in history to receive Diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Montell Jordan is a singer and record producer best known for his 1995 single, “This Is How We Do It.” He also was the primary solo artist on Def Jam’s Def Soul imprint.

Soul For Real released its debut album Candy Rain in March ’95 and the title track hit #1 on the Hot 100. The group’s second album, For Life, was produced by Sean Combs and also charted on Billboard.

DJ Wiz, from the Bronx, NY, is credited with being the first Latino DJ in Hip-Hop music. He teamed with Casanova Fly (Grandmaster Caz) to form The Mighty Force Crew, one of the first Hip-Hop DJ crews.

Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons coming to Pala Casino

A highlight of Pala Casino Spa and Resort’s summer entertainment season will be at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 23, when rock 'n' roll super legends Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons return to the Starlight Theater stage. The group’s appearance last June at Pala was a sell-out.

No group was bigger in the early ‘60s and thanks to the volcanic success of the Tony Award-winning musical, Jersey Boys, which chronicles the life and times of Frankie and the group, their classic songs “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like A Man,” “Rag Doll,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” are again the rage.
