Caesars Entertainment celebrates grand opening of Caesars Virginia

Caesars Entertainment celebrated the grand opening of its highly anticipated destination Caesars Virginia earlier today. The luxury resort opened its doors for the first time following a ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, Caesars Entertainment President & COO Anthony Carano, Caesars Entertainment Regional President Barron Fuller, Caesars Virginia General Manager Chris Albrecht and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Chief Michell Hicks. Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones, Virginia Lottery Executive Director Khalid Jones, Senator Tammy Mulchi, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maggie Beal and hundreds of community members joined the celebration.

“This beautiful destination encompasses what the Caesars brand is all about,” said Caesars Entertainment President & COO Anthony Carano. “From exceptional restaurants, high-energy gaming and exciting entertainment, Caesars Virginia has it all. The fantastic amenities coupled with the Family Style Service Caesars is known for make for a world-class destination we know our guests and the community will love.”

The morning began with a car parade of race cars and supercars supplied by Virginia International Raceway, Kaizen Autosport and Foreign Cars Italia weaving through the heart of Danville. Five-time NBA Champion and the league’s “best rebounding forward in NBA history,” Dennis Rodman was the parade’s master of ceremonies. Rodman, Caesar, Cleopatra and Mayor Jones rode in the vehicles that stopped at the front of the new resort for the opening ceremony. Following the ribbon-cutting, guests were ushered into the new 587,000-square-foot resort to place their bets for the first time. Rodman placed the first ceremonial bet in the new state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, betting a $100 five-leg parlay on all five teams he played for in the NBA to win their next game. The celebration capped off with an impressive fireworks and drone show by Grucci.

Caesars Virginia boasts 90,000 square feet of gaming space, including nearly 1,500 of the newest, most exciting slots, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a WSOP poker room and Caesars Sportsbook. Additionally, Caesars Virginia is also home to a 320-room hotel tower, 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space that also serves as a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue, a full-service spa, pool and a wide variety of dining options, including Ramsay’s Kitchen by multi-Michelin-starred chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay, Dan Dan Noodle, Three Stacks and the 500 Block Food Hall by local developer Rick Barker and local restaurateur Steve Parry.

Caesars’ World Series of Poker approved for multi-state online poker launch in Michigan

The Michigan Gaming Control Board approved Caesars’ World Series of Poker for the launch of its multi-state online poker platform in the state. This move enables residents of Michigan to join in cross-state competitions and reinforces the agency’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and dynamic gaming industry.

Currently, three licensed operators and providers offer online poker in Michigan: MGM Grand Detroit with BetMGM, the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians with World Series of Poker, and the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians and provider PokerStars. PokerStars was approved to launch multi-state play on 1 January 2023.

“By offering seamless connectivity between players in Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada, the Board’s approval of Caesars’ platform establishes another opportunity for online poker collaboration and innovation,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said. “Michigan citizens can anticipate a safe, secure gaming environment — in what will likely be a larger pool of online players — as they engage in World Series of Poker games across state borders in a responsible manner.”

American Wagering (Caesars) is the authorized platform provider for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. They submitted a Multi-State Poker Submission Form to the MGCB in late April, requesting the ability to share multi-state internet poker games between Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada pursuant to the Lawful Internet Gaming Act (LIGA) and Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). The MGCB has approved their request, authorizing Caesars to offer Texas Hold’em and Omaha internet poker games, along with variations of those games. Any new internet poker game(s) must be submitted to the MGCB for approval.

In May 2022, Michigan joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, allowing Michigan online poker players to join with players in other jurisdictions — Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, and West Virginia — where licensed operators are authorized to conduct multi-state poker. Prior to the state joining MSIGA, Michigan poker players could play online only against other players located throughout the state.

Caesars opens its first Nebraska casino

Harrah's Columbus Nebraska Racing & Casino, Caesars Entertainment’s first venture into the Cornhusker State, opened its doors to guests for the first time today. Caesars, Columbus Exposition and Racing and the Columbus community celebrated the momentous occasion with a ribbon cutting, giveaways and more.

Opening day guests received commemorative Harrah’s shirts before making the property’s historical first spins on the slots, table game wagers and first bets at the Caesars Race & Sportsbook. The first jackpot was hit at 10:14 a.m. with a lucky guest winning $1,876 on Power Push.

“We’re so proud to open the doors to Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino for the first time today,” said Todd Connelly, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. “Harrah’s is an iconic brand that our guests have come to know and love across the country. We’re so happy to be here with our partners and friends as we celebrate what is sure to be a bright future in Nebraska.”

The new destination features a 17,000-square-foot casino with 400 slot machines, 11 table games and a Caesars Race & Sportsbook featuring a 2,100-square-foot sports and simulcast betting area conveniently located on the casino floor. The area contains 17 viewing screens, including a massive 163-inch video wall for the ultimate sports viewing experience. The opening of Caesars Race & Sportsbook at Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino marks the first time Caesars Sportsbook has accepted sports wagers in the Cornhusker State.

Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino is also home to the award-winning restaurant Brew Brothers, founded by the Carano family in 1995, and a bar called Wishbones. A Marriot Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites is under construction next door and will connect directly to the casino once complete later this year.

In partnership with Columbus Exposition and Racing, Harrah’s Columbus Nebraska will be home to a one-mile racetrack, the longest track in the state. The track will host 15 live races every Friday – Sunday from Aug. 16 to Sept. 15, as well as one on Labor Day. Each date will offer all-ages Grandstand seating, along with 21+ in-person and kiosk betting.

Harrah’s Columbus NE, Racing & Casino is also part of Caesars Entertainment’s expansive Caesars Rewards® network. Guests who play at the new destination can earn and redeem Reward Credits at any of Caesars Entertainment’s 50+ properties in North America.

Las Vegas Strip casino awards six-figure win

A Caesars Palace visitor is starting December with a six-figure win. On Thursday, 30 November at 10 p.m., a lucky Caesars Rewards member won $222,213 after hitting a Mega Progressive jackpot playing Three Card Poker.

Quang Trinh of Vietnam stopped by the casino floor after dinner at Gordon Ramsay HELL'S KITCHEN and won the massive jackpot within 30 minutes.

Another Las Vegas guest is leaving with pockets of money after a third six-figure jackpot hit at Caesars Palace within the last five days.

On Thursday, 1 June at 10 p.m., a lucky Caesars Rewards member won $100,000 after hitting a jackpot playing video poker at Caesars Palace.

MGM and Caesars selling Las Vegas casinos?

This week's gambling news finds both Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts looking to sell Las Vegas casinos right on the Strip. MGM plans to sell The Mirage, while Caesars has yet to name which Strip casino they plan to move. But why sell any of their Las Vegas casinos when Nevada is in the middle of such a strong economic recovery?

Despite a robust jump in revenue over last year, Caesars as a whole still expects to see a net loss of more than $230 million. Revenue is up almost 90% from last year, but has announced plans to part ways with a yet-to-be-named Las Vegas casino. Caesars is making this move in order to secure more cash, and also has plans to liquidate their William Hill assets which are not U.S.-facing. Despite these moves, Caesars stated that they are “Encouraged by the early results from our rebranded Caesars sportsbook”. They do plan to operate in even more American markets as we move toward 2022.

Also, MGM Resorts brought on over $2.7 billion in revenue for the third quarter of this year. However, the company still wants to sell their one of their Las Vegas casinos, likely The Mirage. Their announcement does come as a bit of a surprise if you consider the earnings report they just released showed revenue growth of 140%. Also, MGM Resorts did just purchase the operational rights to The Cosmopolitan property on the Strip at City Center. Their CEO, Bill Hornbuckle, stated that MGM had another strong quarter which was primarily due to domestic operations, adding that the results showed “…the continued robust demand for our gaming entertainment offerings across the U.S. and the effectiveness of our operating model.”

Caesars Palace unveils plans for main entrance renovation

Already one of the most iconic resorts in the world, Caesars Palace is not resting on its laurels. Instead, it embarks on a multimillion-dollar renovation of the original main entrance, main casino and porte-cochère to create an extravagant entryway, redesigned gaming areas and a new lobby bar. Construction is slated to begin in early July, with most of the project set to be complete by New Year’s Eve.

The main entrance to the property will be entirely rebuilt from the ground up resulting in an arrival experience fit for a Caesar, matching the glamour of the property’s iconic hotel lobby. Once completed, guests will be welcomed by a dramatic and soaring dome and barreled ceiling over a stunning 15-foot tall statue of Augustus Caesar. The project also includes two new state-of-the-art gaming pits, which will flank the enhanced entrance, a beautiful new lobby bar and a renovation of the property’s legendary domed table games floor.

“Caesars Palace brought a sense of grandeur to the Las Vegas Strip when it was built in 1966, and we’re proud to continue that legacy with a full reimagining of our main entrance,” said Sean McBurney, Caesars Entertainment Regional President. “Completely rebuilding the front entrance of one of the world’s most iconic destinations is no small task, and we’re excited to get started and create a stunning new visual welcome for our guests.”

Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City welcomed guests back to their world-famous resorts today at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City, Bally's - Atlantic City and Caesars Atlantic City, in accordance with the New Jersey Governor's Executive Orders and all state directives, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside of Caesars' Boardwalk entrance on Friday, July 3.

Caesars donates over 250,000 pounds of food and thousands of personal protection supplies

Caesars Entertainment, one of the world's most diversified gaming and entertainment companies, remains committed to helping nearby communities in this time of need, donating food, as well as essential personal protection equipment across the country to assist healthcare workers, law enforcement and more.

To date, the company has supplied more than 250,000 pounds of food, which is equivalent to approximately 208,000 meals to numerous food banks and charities.
