William Hill racebook opens at Casino Miami


William Hill US, America’s leading sports betting company, today began Race Book operations at Casino Miami Jai-Alai, marking the organization’s first Florida operation in its 85 year history.

Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US; Phil Ruffin, Casino Miami owner; Dan?Licciardi,?Casino Miami General Manager;?and Aritz Erkiaga, Miami Jai Alai player, were in attendance to cut the opening ribbon and welcome bettors to watch and wager on some of the most exciting races.

The modernized 2,300 square feet space next to the casino’s poker room is equipped with a state-of-the-art viewing facility which includes 10 50-inch TV screens in addition to a 30 foot video wall for racing fans to be able to watch a variety of tracks simultaneously. Seating includes a mix of high-top tables with plush chairs and 30 race carrells.

The Race Book offers pari-mutuel simulcast wagering. Bettors will be able to watch and wager on major Thoroughbred, Harness, and Greyhound tracks as well as Jai Alai from around the country.

Casino Miami to open William Hill sportsbook


William Hill U.S., America’s leading sports betting company, today announced a partnership with Casino Miami to open a William Hill Race Book, which will mark the organization’s first Florida operation in its 85 year history.

Pending regulatory approvals, the race book is scheduled to open in December 2019 with a state-of-the-art viewing facility. The renovation will modernize the 2,300 square feet space next to the casino’s poker room and will include 10 50-inch TV screens in addition to a 30 ft video wall for racing fans to be able to watch a variety of tracks simultaneously. Seating will include a mix of high-top tables with plush chairs and 30 race carrells.

Phil Ruffin purchases Casino Miami

Casino Miami Jai-Alai, a Fronton Holdings, LLC property, has been fully acquired by renowned Las Vegas-based casino mogul and businessman, Phil Ruffin.

The 200,000 square-foot establishment, on 21 developable acres, is located at 3500 NW 37th Ave., Miami, Florida 33142. It currently boasts 1,000 slot machines and is licensed to hold 2,000. As part of the acquisition, Casino Miami's nearly 150 employees will be retained, and the property's name will remain the same.

"I look forward to entering the Miami gaming market through this acquisition," said Ruffin. "We have exciting plans for Casino Miami that we will be revealing in the near future."

Located less than 20 minutes from Downtown Miami, Casino Miami features state-of-the-art, Vegas-style machines and an electronic table game area, with digital blackjack and roulette offerings. The multifaceted property also has a live entertainment space (Club Rio), bar (Whiskies), café dining area, live jai-alai games and simulcast betting.

The acquisition builds on Ruffin's legacy in and beyond the gaming space, with current holdings including Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip.
