PokerStars introduces new poker tournament

PokerStars today announced a new Championship of Online Poker tournament that brings together poker players from France, Spain and Portugal to compete for a guaranteed prize pool of €10 million as well as three Platinum Passes to the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), each worth $30,000. The Southern Europe Championship of Online Poker (SECOOP), which will take place from 28 October to 12 November, will feature 149 events with buy-ins starting from just €5.

Key tournament highlights include the €250 Main Event on November 11 with a €1 million guarantee, and two Sunday Special tournaments on 28 October and 4 November with guarantees of €300,000 and €350,000, respectively.

Players (excluding those in Portugal) will also be able to vie for a total of three PSPC Platinum Passes, which will be awarded across the SECOOP Challenge and daily leader boards.

SECOOP Challenge
Players will receive an SECOOP Challenge stamp for each day during which they participate in at least one SECOOP tournament. Players will receive a ticket to a freeroll with the chance to win a Platinum Pass for collecting four stamps, and can collect a second freeroll ticket for collecting eight. The freerolls will take place on November 18 at 20:00 and 20:15 CET.

Leaderboards
The second route to win a Platinum Pass and the poker trip of a lifetime to the Bahamas is daily leader boards. There will be 16 during SECOOP, with the 16 lucky table-toppers then facing off in a freeroll for a Platinum Pass.
