Maine Legislature says No

AUGUSTA, Maine -- Maine has put the kibosh on expanded gambling, according to the Bangor Daily News. This is the second rejection of a casino bill this week, the report said. Bill LD 1280, which would have permitted the establishment of a casino, had passed in the House, but failed to pass in the Senate, according to the Bangor Daily News report. LD 1446, a second gaming bill, concerned with a Tribal-run casino, also failed to pass in the Senate, the Bangor Daily News reported.
