Vanessa Williams to perform at IP Casino Resort and Spa

Legendary vocalist Vanessa Williams will perform at IP Casino Resort and Spa at Studio A on Friday, May 26.

Williams rose to fame in the 1980’s and released her first album, “The Right Stuff,” in 1988, which produced her first #1 single, “Dreamin’.” She followed up that success with the wildly successful album “The Comfort Zone,” the album which contained her best-known hit, “Save the Best for Last.” The song hit #1 on the charts in the United States and held the top spot for five weeks. The album was certified triple-Platinum, and earned Williams five Grammy Award nominations.

Her success continued into the 1990’s and early 2000’s. In 1995, Williams provided the soundtrack hit “Colors of the Wind” for the Disney animated feature “Pocahontas.” The award-winning song nabbed Williams an Academy Award for Best original Song as well as a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Movie.

In addition to her musical career, Williams found success on the big and small screens, landing starring roles in popular television shows like “Ugly Betty,” “Desperate Housewives,” and more. She also took to Broadway to appear in a variety of productions, including a Tony Award-nominated turn as The Witch in Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods.”

IP Casino Resort and Spa receives accolade for wine program

IP Casino Resort and Spa's thirty-two has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator's 2016 Restaurant Wine List Awards. The Gulf Coast's favorite destinations for fine dining and wine has been recognized as one of the top destinations from around the globe for wine lovers.

"Our cellar has grown to this level of excellence due to the tireless efforts of Harry Hall and John Gaulke, our resident wine experts, who are constantly caring for and looking to supplement our more than 725 selections," said Stephen Morgan, Director of Food and Beverages. Delbert McClinton to perform at IP Casino

Grammy Award-winning artist Delbert McClinton will perform at Studio A at IP Casino Resort and Spa on Friday, June 10.

McClinton, a multi-talented performer specializing in both American rock blues and electric blues, is best known for his mastery of the guitar, piano and harmonica. Throughout a career that has spanned more than 50 years, McClinton has recorded several albums and landed numerous singles across a variety of charts. One of his best-known hits was the 1992 release “Tell Me About It,” a country duet with Tanya Tucker that reached #4 on the country charts.

Showtime is 8 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to the show. Tickets start at $25 plus tax and convenience fees. Tickets are available online at the IP Casino Resort and Spa and Ticketmaster websites. Tickets can also be purchased at the IP Box Office or at the Ticketmaster kiosk located on property. Guests may call Ticketmaster at (800) 653-8000. Advance purchase tickets must be picked up at the Box Office the day of the show starting at 1 p.m. Guests must be 21 or older to attend the show. No refunds or exchanges will be permitted.
