Gwen Stefani debuts new show at Planet Hollywood

The Las Vegas Strip was treated to a sweet escape last night as multi-Platinum recording artist and global icon Gwen Stefani debuted her headlining residency "Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl" inside Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Attended by a sold-out audience of fans, professional athletes and celebrities, including fashion designers Jeremy Scott and Andrea Lieberman, Deryk Engelland and Marc-André Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights, Raiders owner Mark Davis, and famed magician Mat Franco, Las Vegas' newest production was met with several enthusiastic standing ovations.

Designed exclusively for Zappos Theater and promoted by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment, the eye-popping spectacular celebrates the breadth of the star's illustrious musical career with fan-favorite hits, including "Hollaback Girl," "Sweet Escape" and "What You Waiting For."

"Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl" is helmed by director Cory FitzGerald, who also designed the astonishing production and created the show's jaw dropping lighting. In true Gwen fashion, the show features magnificent costumes designed by Custom Moschino by Jeremy Scott, Versace, Marchesa Couture and The Blondes.

Tickets for performances of "Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl" through March 2019 are now on sale. Rivers Casino and Resort announces concert series

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady will be kicking off summer with its new Harbor Jam concert series at the Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater. Harbor Jam is the first entertainment booked at the Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater since its completion by the Galesi Group at the end of 2017. Harbor Jam will feature eight free concerts open to the public, and will run from 23 June until 11 August.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate summer in Schenectady than with a free concert series at the Capital Region’s newest outdoor entertainment venue,” said Rob Long, Rivers Casino general manager. “We have an amazing and diverse musical lineup boasting of national touring acts and we are looking forward to a summer filled with great entertainment that the entire region can enjoy.”

The Harbor Jam performance lineup features Pure Prairie League, Orleans, Lords of 52nd Street (Billy Joel’s former band), California Transit Authority (Featuring Danny Seraphine of Chicago) and the country’s top tribute bands playing the music of Elton John, Eric Clapton, U2 and Steely Dan.

“Mohawk Harbor is an exciting place to be, and it’s only getting more energized with the announcement of our Harbor Jam summer concert series and our tremendous lineup of performances,” said Justin Moore, Rivers Casino assistant general manager. “We are excited to work closely with our partners at Galesi Group and the Harbor Jam sponsors to provide a wonderful and truly unique experience. Harbor Jam begins on Saturday, 23 June and runs until 11 August, with a concert every Saturday at 6 p.m. The concert series is being sponsored by Druthers Brewing Company, Galesi Group, Proctors Theater, Price Chopper/Market 32 and B 95.5.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase and provided by Rivers Casino & Resort, Druthers Brewing Company and the Schenectady County Community College culinary program.

There are no age restrictions to attend Harbor Jam. Concertgoers are welcome to bring chairs and blankets for seating. All concerts are rain or shine; there will be no rain dates scheduled.

Bruno Mars adds six performance dates at Monte Carlo Casino

Due to popular demand, multi-Grammy Award-winning superstar Bruno Mars has added six performance dates at Park Theater at Monte Carlo Las Vegas Resort & Casino on 30 and 31 December 2017 and and 14, 16, 17 and 19 February 2018.

Tickets for the new Park Theater performances start at $99.50, not including applicable service charges, and go on sale Friday, 8 September at 10 a.m. PST. Ticket sales are limited to eight per person. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.

Kool & the Gang to perform at Orleans Arena on Aug. 27

Influential R&B group Kool & the Gang, accompanied by Morris Day & the Time, Bootsy Collins and Doug E. Fresh, will bring the “Keepin’ the Funk Alive” Tour to The Orleans Arena on Aug. 27.

One of the longest-touring R&B groups, Kool & the Gang is known for their funky style and their 25 top-10 hits, including “Celebration” and “Jungle Boogie.” Kool & the Gang has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide, has won two Grammy Awards and seven American Music Awards, and has influenced R&B music for more than 45 years.

With his dynamic dancing and smooth vocals, Morris Day played a crucial role in the Twin City dance club sound of the 1980s. A founding member of Prince’s band the Time, Day performed and recorded with the group until launching his solo career. During his solo career, Day released the album “Daydreaming”, which included the chart-topping hit “Fishnets.” He later returned to the group in the early 1990s.

Mentored by James Brown, Bootsy Collins is a Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee who has been making legendary music for more than 40 years. Known for being the “original funk ‘n’ roll wild child” and his signature knee-high platform boots, Collins’ most recent album is the 2011 “Tha Funk Capital of the World.”

Doug E. Fresh is known as the “first human beatbox” and has been wowing audiences with his drum machine imitations for more than 30 years. His classics include “The Show/La Di Da Di” and “Play This Only at Night.”

Duran Duran to perform at Mohegan Sun

In what is promising to be one of the most eagerly anticipated tours of 2016, multi-platinum superstars Duran Duran have announced that they will hit the road for an extensive North American arena and amphitheatre tour next year in support of their current album, Paper Gods.

The legendary band CHIC, led by guitarist Nile Rodgers, will appear as special guests on almost all of the dates with an additional support act to be announced. Rodgers served as a producer on Paper Gods and has enjoyed a long collaborative history with Duran Duran. Mohegan Sun Arena is primed for a Thursday, April 7 concert, beginning at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $83.90 and $63.90 and go on sale Saturday, Dec. 12 through Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Tickets are also on sale at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Sunday, Dec. 13, subject to availability.

The Paper Gods Tour will kick off on March 28, 2016 in Durham, North Carolina, and will be divided into two legs. The first runs through April with shows up and down the East Coast of America into Canada, including Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Atlanta, Austin and Montreal. The second leg returns the band to the road stateside in July and continues through early August with shows in Las Vegas, Irvine, San Diego, Toronto and more.

In its review of the band's recent Leeds show, The Guardian raved that "everything that is wonderful about Pop music seems to occupy the triumphant final half hour, as a sea of blondes, brunettes and husbands come together to bellow 'Planet Earth,' 'Girls on Film,' 'Rio,' and the rest. Every arm is raised skyward in a giant communal bonding, an audiovisual illustration of Le Bon's insistence that 'music is a healing force.'"

Paper Gods was released worldwide on Sept. 11 and bowed at No. 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Album chart, earning Duran Duran its highest-charting album in 22 years.
