WSOP Online Gold Bracelet events finalized

Online poker continues to be a key cog in the wheel of growing the game of poker and with new states regulating and set to open up in the U.S. the next couple of years, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is bolstering its online offerings in 2020 to help elevate this popular variant of poker.

In conjunction with the 2020 World Series of Poker, set to run from May 26 to July 15, 2020 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the WSOP.com ONLINE poker platform will run fourteen official gold bracelet events from May 31 to July 12, including a stretch of eight events over eight consecutive days from June 28 - July 5.

New offerings from WSOP.com this year include a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event on June 30 and a $10,000 Super High Roller on July 2. Buy-ins this year are priced from $400 to $10,000.

Three events on the ONLINE schedule will utilize the freezeout format – single elimination – dovetailing with the live event schedule’s concerted effort to offer this format more often in 2020. Additionally, ten other events will be single re-entry, again aligning with the WSOP schedule inside the Rio. Only one event on the schedule, the $777 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha tournament on June 7 will offer more than single re-entry, utilizing a 3x re-entry format.

All WSOP.com online gold bracelet events are expected to be open to anyone inside the borders of Nevada or New Jersey during the event dates. Players do not have to be residents of those states, they simply must conduct all game play while physically inside them. Players may register for a WSOP.com online account in advance. Funding an account and withdrawing funds can also be done from anywhere. As in the past, the WSOP.com staff will be set up in the Lambada Room in the Rio Convention Center during the WSOP to assist online players, and the WSOP cage will be available for depositing and withdrawing funds as well.

“We believe the 2020 offering of online gold bracelet events features our best schedule yet,” said WSOP.com’s Director of Online Poker Danielle Barille. “This year we offer a consistent schedule of Sunday events every week of the WSOP, plus a special selection of eight events from June 28 to July 5 to coincide with the biggest week of the live WSOP when most players are in town to play.”

Thirteen of the fourteen events will feature a consistent 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT start time, with the lone exception the $10,000 Super High Roller on July 2 which will begin at 3:00pm ET/12:00 noon PT.

Players participating in WSOP.com online events can do so via desktop, mobile or tablet for all No-Limit Hold’em events. The Pot-Limit Omaha event will require a desktop connection. Players will be able to multi-table – play both in a live WSOP gold bracelet event inside the Rio – while also participating in a WSOP.com online event concurrently if they wish.

All the events announced today will also be part of a new leaderboard the WSOP has planned for 2020. More details about leaderboards will be announced closer to the WSOP, but this specific subset of 14 events will feature a point-tracking leaderboard throughout the summer where a winner will be crowned and prizes up for grabs.

In addition to the WSOP.com ONLINE official gold bracelet events, several other popular ancillary offerings are planned. The 25 Seat Scramble – the ability to win a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat on the cheap – will take place on Sunday, June 28 at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT, featuring a $215 buy-in and a guarantee of 25 WSOP Main Event seats up for grabs.

Additional satellites to live WSOP events are already underway including Main Event satellites and the exciting All-In satellites running every Sunday for $80. The consistent slate of nightly satellites into the most popular upcoming live events will also be offered, as well as returning favorites including the Player Appreciation Tournament and the Online Championships.

A record 187,298 entries participated in the 2019 WSOP, creating a 50-year high of $293,183,345 in prize money. The average WSOP gold bracelet event in 2019 had a $3,257,592 prize pool.

Buy-ins for tournaments at the Rio in 2020 will start as low as $75. Single table satellites and all your favorite live poker games: low, medium and high limit will begin on May 26 and run 24 hours a day throughout the seven-week series taking place in the spacious Rio Convention Center for the 16th consecutive year.

Individual event online pre-registration won’t open until March/April, after all events have been determined and approved by regulators. More than 500 poker tables will be set up across nearly 200,000 square-feet of ballroom space to accommodate the thousands of players from around the world who attend poker’s annual Woodstock.

WSOP.com’s real-money online poker offerings in New Jersey and Nevada will be the exclusive online home for players in these states to win seats into WSOP events, including the Main Event. While in New Jersey or Nevada, eligible players can play on WSOP.com, whether a resident or not.
