In November 2018, the MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship attracted 748 entries to Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. That surpassed the 701 entries from the 2017 MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship to become the largest major poker tournament ($1K+ buy-in) in state history.
It was 27-year-old Brett Halan, a logistics account manager from Naperville, Illinois, who finished as the last player standing for $144,812. It marked the third year in a row a player from Illinois walked away with the MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship title.
From 11 to 17 November, the MSPT will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the third to last main event stop of Season 10. It’s there that the 2019 MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship will play out. The $1,100 buy-in, $300K GTD Main Event will offer three starting flights beginning with Day 1A on Thursday, 14 November.
