Neymar Jr finishes sixth in the Super High Roller event

Neymar Jr finished sixh in the Super High Roller event at the PokerStars-sponsored Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) São Paulo, cashing R$79,440 ($21,470) after losing a flush x flush. The tournament registered 288 entries with a total prize pool of R$1.7 million ($460,000).

Fans and friends showed up at the tournament room to root for Neymar Jr who was welcoming throughout, taking pictures and signing autographs.

The Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil national forward was one of the nine players competing on the final table, which was supposed to resume on Tuesday. Neymar Jr had a wedding to attend, however, which was quite a big deal as he was best man. So, in a great act of fair play the table decided to pause until Wednesday. When the players made the decision, BSOP generously agreed to cover additional expenses, including hotel rooms and flight changes.

Over 16,400 people tuned in to watch one of the best football players in the world on the live stream, which is now available to watch on YouTube.

Neymar Jr wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance at BSOP. Manchester City striker and fellow Brazilian national Gabriel Jesus also joined the action at the Main Event on Monday, 23 July.
