Danny McDonagh appointed PokerStars Live Executive Tournament Director

Danny McDonagh has been appointed Executive Tournament Director for PokerStars Live. McDonagh has a long, rich history with PokerStars, joining in 2007 as Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Tournament Director and, over nine years, rising to Director of Live Operations - Asia Pacific, President of the APPT and the Commissioner of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT).

“The new role will be as Executive Tournament Director for PokerStars. There are some obvious duties involved such as overseeing Tournament Rules and Regulations, reviewing schedules and structures,” said PokerStars Executive Tournament Director Danny McDonagh. “I will also be a point of reference for our players to have a voice about our events, whether chatting to me in person at events or connecting to me via social media. And another important aspect will be the ongoing review of PokerStars’ live poker offerings and being part of the team effecting exciting changes and innovations to our events.”

McDonagh will focus on PokerStars flagship events and make his first appearance at the upcoming European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona this August, where 10 PSPC Platinum Passes of $300,000 value in total will be awarded. He will then attend EPT Prague towards the end of the year, and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in January 2019, where the most anticipated poker event of the year, the PokerStars Players Championship, will play out.
