PENNSYLVANIA -- Pennsylvania has 12 casinos which are taxed at 12-14 % on slot machines and 55% on table games, but Governor Tom Wolf wants to add a new tax, according to the Standard Speaker.
The proposed 8% additional tax would be levied on promo coupons and free play rewards, the report said.
The tax would be paid by the casino under his proposal and would, if successfully introduced, be retroactively backdated to January 1, 2016, the Standard Speaker reported.
