ISRAEL -- The Ministry of Tourism is increasingly optimistic on the financial merits that permitting casinos in Eilat would bring, Haaretz reports.
A proposal, supported by Prime MInister Netayahu, would see up to four casino established, the report explained.
The proposal has already drawn the ire of religious leaders who point out the social costs of gambling to counter the benefits to tourism argument, Haaretz said.
The country already has invested in online gaming, the report noted.
