Betfair, Paddy Power merger discussions continue

LONDON, ENGLAND AND DUBLIN, IRELAND -- Betfair and Paddy Power are set to merge into one of the world's largest online betting enterprises, according to Reuters. The proposed merger, details of which are still being finalized, follows other such deals this year, the report said. It's understood companies may be making such moves because of increased taxation and changes to regulation in the UK, Reuters noted.
