New study links gambling disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder

CONNECTICUT -- A new study by Yale University and the Saint Louis University School of Medicine has found that problem gambling and obsessive-compulsive behaviors share genetic and behavioural links, Yale News reported. In previous studies the links between the two had not been so clear, the report said. The psychiatry profession has struggled to classify gambling type disorders previously citing them as impulse control but now classifying them as addiction, according to Yale News.
