Voting now open for British Poker Awards

Voting is now open for the fifth annual British Poker Awards, with poker enthusiasts from around the world able to vote for their best players in more than a dozen categories.

The ceremony will honour the best and brightest of the British poker scene, in both the live and online realms, as well as recognising those who have made the biggest contribution to the game.

Last year saw PokerStars Team Online player Alex Millar named Player of the Year at a star-studded awards ceremony at London's Hippodrome Casino, and the elite of the British and European poker world are expected to rub shoulders with poker enthusiasts once more.

"After the overwhelming success of the 2013 awards, we can't wait to once again recognise the top talents in British poker," said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe.

"We have seen some fantastic performances from British players in 2014, as they have shown they can mix it with the world's best both live and online," he added.

An expert panel has joined organizers Bluff Europe in drawing up a shortlist. Judges include PokerNews' Matthew Pitt, PokerStrategy's Barry Carter, RankingHero's Nicolas Levi, CalvinAyre.com's Lee Davy, Late Night Poker creator Nic Szeremeta and 'Voice of Poker' Jesse May.

This year there are a couple of new categories, including 'Hand of the Year', where the public will be able to vote on the most captivating live poker hand that the world has seen in 2014.
