During a VIP party this evening for Viejas’ 23rd anniversary, 299 people gathered around the pool at Viejas Hotel and handed off sparkler flames from one person to another, setting a Guinness World Record for Longest Sparkler Relay. The final sparkler lit a fuse that set off a spectacular chain of over 10,000 fireworks, setting a new Guinness World Record for Longest Chain of Fireworks.
Official Adjudicator Alex Angert from Guinness World Records was on hand to witness and certify both new Guinness World Records. He then presented Tribal Chairman Anthony R. Pico with the official certificates.
“This is more than just a new listing in a record book,” said Viejas General Manager Chris Kelley. “These new records reflect the teamwork, dedication and leadership upon which Viejas’ 23 years of success have been built. We thank our loyal guests and team members, and look forward to building upon our shared success in the years ahead.”
